Summer Program Learning Loss Prevention

July 1, 2024 - Los Angeles, CA - JUSTSYSTEMS CORPORATION(JustSystems), a home learning service for elementary school students called Smile Zemi, has launched the Summer Program to prevent the decline in academic performance primarily seen during summer break, known as Summer Slide.
Children lose about a month worth of learning in math and reading during summer break. However, there are many things that can be experienced only during summer break. Heading to the learning center and using a tutor on a regular basis can be difficult in terms of scheduling and such. Smile Zemi solves these problems by introducing the Summer Program. The program is taught on a dedicated learning tablet, which makes it easy to carry along enabling you to study anytime, anywhere during long trips or at a hotel by the beach. The program includes STEAM materials that’s perfect for summer break, and course reviews from the previous school year to help prevent Summer Slide and prepare for the new school year. The program is available to students in Grades 1 through 5 of the new school year, as well as those who have completed kindergarten this summer.

Summer exclusive STEAM courses
Smile Zemi offers special courses on science and coding that children can enjoy studying. These interactive activities stimulate intellectual curiosity and motivate study.
Science
Provides experiment videos which can be easily worked on at home, not only to watch, but experiencing it hands-on by referring to the video. Families can enjoy together enhancing a child's knowledge.
Technology
Coding activities help children construct commands to clear mazes and figure out how to solve problems efficiently. There are two versions, one for lower grade students and one for upper grade students, helping them develop logical thinking skills according to their developmental stages.
Engineering
Children get to learn the basics of the Engineering Design Process which helps them to develop problem-solving skills through watching videos and completing practice problems.
Art
In Design a Fish for lower grade students, children can develop their creativity by creating the “fish of the future” and designing their own original fish. In Animation Studio for upper grade students, children can create their own original animations by creating a story in a flip-book version.
Mathematics
Children can review the math curriculum learned in the previous school year. In addition to calculations, students will be able to work on multiple areas such as Measurement, Data, Geometry, etc.
In addition, Trivia Quiz is available to test the child’s knowledge by fast tapping. With the competitive mode, children can also enjoy the game with friends and family.
Prevent Summer Slide
Math and ELA review courses are provided to review materials from the previous school year and prepare children for the new school year. Knowledge Checks are used to measure comprehension levels, and courses are assigned according to the level of understanding so that each child can work only on what is necessary. The course is structured to help supplement the child’s learning needs through the concept of Learn, in which they study by watching videos, and through the concept of Practice, which helps to retain their knowledge of what they learned, leading to an increase in learning effectiveness. Additionally, the course is designed to help children improve their understanding in the kindergarten course content, and to prepare them for Grade 1.
